Modern in the City quilt challenge and Delightful Stars quilt along

I think I am going to try to do this online quilt along. Delightful Stars I looked at the web site and it is pretty straight forward and I have lots of fabric at home. I am also doing a challenge for the Modern quilt guild called Modern in the City it is also very straightforward and broad just need one side to be 36". I have an idea and I am working out the logistics of fitting the parts together. I made a quilted wonky star out of upolstery fabric and incorporated it in a hanging piece of art on an old stretched canvas. I am not sure if I like the finished design as it does not have enough contrast and eye movement. But it was a good learning experience for wonky stars which I have never made before and how to use different tones of fabric to create continuity. 4-27-14 update The Delightful Stars quilt along is prodding along slowly the quilt challenge Modern in the City is pieced but not finished so I did not make the deadline. I still have a really cool wall hanging. Gotta love Jane Sassaman fabric...I am a devoted fan http://www.janesassaman.com/Jane_Sassaman/home.html There was a the move to southern IL that has taken all priority and then there was a family illness that needed my support that also took all my attention for awhile but I am still makingsome progress sewing even though my studio is split between to locations about 6 hours apart. I have added some photos of recent projects pics of the old studio and a photo of the outside of the new studio. I have to say that being a member of the Chicago Modern Quilt Guild I have learn that a good space to work in is a blessing but not a requirement. We have many women who have young children and literally work in any extra corner or clear surfase they can find. It puts me to shame. Oh I am so longing for the future date when I have one home and one studio instead of 4 and 2 and maybe one cool place in the Florida Keys for really cold weather escapes. That day is coming I am working hard to reach that goal. Other news I have reserved my hotel for QUILTCON 2015 in Austin and I cannot wait.
